This Manual for Keyboard Instruments is the result of over 5 years of intensive trainings for piano students to prepare them for worship service playing, based on more than 25 years of systematic and thorough study and research in harmony, counterpoint, orchestration and composition. However, all the information is organized and streamlined to enable any average pianist obtain the skills of playing for worship by studying this volume step by step and practicing consistently.
There are two objectives in this volume. Firstly, we wish to present a brief theology of musical instruments based on the Bible. Secondly, we desire to offer a textbook that is both technically sound and musically applicable. We will familiarize the students with all the various guitar chords and their applications on the keyboard. Many technical exercises will be provided as well as musical exercises of Christian hymns and songs with suggested ways of playing.
