MINISTRY CLASSES (Classes and Registration form for current semester)
Individual Classes:
This is the first course in piano improvisation. Piano skills are required. You will learn how to use guitar chords to create an accompaniment for a melody.
Usage of Synthesizer in Worship You will learn the different functions of a synthesizer in worship and its application in a worship team.
Whether you wish to brush up long-forgotten chords or to learn how to play praise and worship music on the guitar, this class is designed for you.
Bass guitar is easy to learn, flexible for slow and fast songs with the combination of both rhythmic and melodic parts and it is inseparable for a worship team. This class is for beginner.
This class provides the basic technique of drum playing and how to add rhythmic part to a song.
Group Classes:
The Making of a Worship Leader This class is to equip brothers and sisters with biblical concepts and the techniques of leading worship and fellowship singing.
You will learn to read music and sight singing. This class teaches you the necessary skills to read and understand how music is structured.
This class teaches basic conducting techniques that can be applied to choral setting or worship leading.
Playing Hymns in Today’s Church Hymn arrangements in hymn books are usually arranged in four part harmony which are not easy to play and do not sound very idiomatic on the piano. This class aims to make hymn playing accessible to every pianist by simplifying the harmonies and applying some basic piano accompaniment skills.
In this class, we will touch on issues such as serving on a worship team, role of different instruments, rehearsal techniques, transitions between songs etc.
Many pianists familiar with major and minor chords are constantly seeking to use more Chromatic Harmony in their playing. They hope to add more colors to the music by using various species of Seventh Chords. This class is specially designed for pianists with a working knowledge of guitar chords, who are able to play at sight all major and minor chords and their inversions, as well as all kinds of Seventh chords with their inversions. A working knowledge of music theory will be extremely helpful.
Composing Chinese Christian Songs
This class aims to help those
interested in writing songs to Chinese lyrics. By understanding various song
forms, we hope to share the basic knowledge and skill of song composition. |
