Purpose

The New Heart Christian Music Festival is designed to promote the performance and appreciation of Christian music in the community, as well as to support young musicians in their musical development through a positive performance experience.

Festival Competition Schedule

9:00am–1:00pm Solo Recitals

3:00pm Christian Music Festival Honor Concert & Award Ceremony

* All performances are open to the public.

Eligibility

All participants must be K-12 students. Open to all solo instruments and vocalist. Solo only.

Music Requirement

One or two hymn(s) (English lyrics), Christian music arrangement, or classical sacred music not to exceed total 4 minutes in length. Any performance that exceeds 4 minutes may be stopped at the judges' discretion. Please prepare a copy of sheet music for our judges. New Heart reserves the right for music approval.

**Performers should provide their own accompanists or soundtracks as needed.

Award Categories

Participant: Festival Award Ribbon, Certificate, and Judge’s Critique.

Blue Ribbon Recipients: Scholarship $50 and performing at the 3pm Honor Concert on the same day & featured on New Heart website.

Division

(A)  Primary Elementary: K - Grade 2

(B)  Intermediate Elementary: Grade 3 - 5

(C)  Middle School: Grades 6 - 8

(D)  High School: Grades 9 -12

Rating Criteria

Participants will be judged according to musical interpretation, expression, intonation, rhythm, sound quality and stage presentation.

Fee

$30 per entry, non-refundable.
